MODULE 1: October 16th and 17th
Exploring the internal/personal of AOP
- Locating ourselves as therapists.
- Understanding race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, and spirituality intersectional factors) in relation to psychotherapy.
- Making internal trans-generational and transnational connections.
- Using AOP principles to review clinicians’ current therapeutic practice.
- Deconstructing notions of violence, understanding systemic oppression, and practice of exclusion and how they contribute to trauma.
- Psycho-education on oppression, and anti-oppression praxis.
MODULE 2: October 30th and 31st
Exploring the external of AOP
- Locating our clients in the therapeutic relationship through AOP.
- Integrating AOP change into mainstream psychotherapy.
- Challenging external views and practices of oppression in current therapeutic relationships with clients (exploring intersectional factors externally).
- Exploring the role of resistance in therapy.
- Understanding and exploring resiliency centred tools to actualize change in therapy.
