MODULE 1: October 16th and 17th

Exploring the internal/personal of AOP
  • Locating ourselves as therapists.
  • Understanding race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, and spirituality intersectional factors) in relation to psychotherapy.
  • Making internal trans-generational and transnational connections.
  • Using AOP principles to review clinicians’ current therapeutic practice.
  • Deconstructing notions of violence, understanding systemic oppression, and practice of exclusion and how they contribute to trauma.
  • Psycho-education on oppression, and anti-oppression praxis.

MODULE 2: October 30th and 31st
Exploring the external of AOP
  • Locating our clients in the therapeutic relationship through AOP.
  • Integrating AOP change into mainstream psychotherapy.
  • Challenging external views and practices of oppression in current therapeutic relationships with clients (exploring intersectional factors externally).
  • Exploring the role of resistance in therapy.
  • Understanding and exploring resiliency centred tools to actualize change in therapy.
